NFL 16/1 Acca - 6pm Sunday 18th September

Four picks from the 6pm games form a 16/1 acca

It’s week 2 in the NFL and our first area to focus on is the 6pm game slate. We go with four picks from these games to combine for an early kick off 16/1 NFL acca.

New York Jets @ Cleveland Browns - Under 39.5 Points

Carolina Panthers @ New York Giants - Under 43.5 Points

Miami Dolphins @ Baltimore Ravens - Ravens -3.5

Indianapolis Colts @ Jacksonville Jaguars - Jaguars Money Line

Jets @ Browns - Under 39.5 Points

We kick off with a game that could well turn into a bit of a non event. The Jets are still finding out who they are, and this really should turn out to be a comfortable win for the Cleveland Browns. What we will see here though is the Browns running the ball a lot, which is going to run the clock down, and if they are in the lead as expected, they will certainly be in no rush.

The Jets offered little to stop the Ravens last week, it is unlikely they’ll offer anything this week, and the Browns won’t be in any rush themselves, even more so with their run-first approach.

The under looks a solid pick here, a game that should provide the opposite of end-to-end, non-stop action.

Panthers @ Giants - Under 43.5 Points

Two teams who also like to run the ball a lot, and have a run-first approach which they will bring into this one. The key here is that both teams are not quite there yet, so don’t be surprised to see them getting into good positions, but failing to actually get over the line, which should keep the points total low in this one.

The Giants won with 21 points last week, the Panthers lost with 24, with better defensive play here, it wouldn’t be a surprise if both didn’t reach last weeks figure, but even if just one doesn’t, it should be enough to keep the total under this line.

Another under pick for the points is our second acca selection.

Ravens -3.5 v Dolphins

The Dolphins looked good last week, and deserve the praise they received, but there is no doubt that this provides them with a massive step up. They take on a much better team in the Ravens, and go on the road, and that is enough for me to go against them.

The Ravens won by 15 points last weekend against the New York Jets, and didn’t really get out of first gear in the final quarter. They are home this weekend, and can kick it off with another win, covering the line in the process against a decent Dolphins team, but one not quite at the same level.

I’m siding with the Ravens to get the job done here.

Jaguars Money Line v Colts

You won’t see the Jaguars tipped up too many times, but this could be the week they get a win on the board. Beaten last weekend by Washington, I thought they played well in parts of that game, Trevor Lawrence looks capable of taking the team forward, and he’s a genuine number one receiver to aim for with Christian Kirk on the roster.

The Colts are a team all about Jonathan Taylor, he had a monster 161 rushing yard performance last week, but despite that the Colts still couldn’t get the job done against the Texans, who are no great shakes themselves.

Let’s hope the Jags can stop Taylor a little better, and if they do, they’ve got a great chance of getting a win here. As an outsider, they provide strong value, and boost the bet odds, so we’ll side with the Jags to get over the line and round off our 16/1 NFL acca for the 6pm games on Sunday.
