What is card betting?

Betting on players or teams to be shown cards can be one of the most rewarding markets in football betting.

Goals can be hard to come by, while not every player can gets shots away during a game, but every player on the pitch is capable of picking up a yellow card for any kind of offence.

Card betting is simply betting on an individual player to be shown a yellow or a red card during the match, but can also be used to back a minimum/maximum number of cards to be shown during the game on either side.

Betting on cards can be a good way to boost the odds in a bet builder, and with the greater focus on VAR, referees and with so much individual data now available, we are able to look at which referees show the most cards, how many cards they show on average per game and which players tend to attract the attention of the officials.

With all this data, card betting is one of the markets available to us that we can most accurately predict.

How to bet on cards?

Card betting is very simple, with several options available to you whether you want to place a single, a double, make it an accumulator or build it into your bet builder.

If you just have a hunch that a certain player will be carded during a game, you can find their odds and place money on it, but there is far more to it than that. With our tips, we will provide some of the data behind a game that will help you build your bet into several picks, which will help you increase the odds.

As well as focusing on one or more players to be carded in a match, you can also back a certain number of cards to be shown in the match itself, or to each side. For example, you can bet on over/under three yellow cards in a game, both teams to receive a card or you can combine them all into one bet and make it into an accumulator, or make an acca across multiple matches/leagues.
