Euro 2024 Group C Odds and Betting Tips

Euro 2024 Group C Tip

England are one of the favourites for the Euros this year, and when you look at their squad and previous performances, it is with good reason.

In the past few tournaments - across World Cups and European Championships - they tend to start slowly and cautiously so don’t be surprised if there is an underwhelming performance or two in the group stages, but they will almost certainly qualify and gain momentum along the way. It’s not an easy pick between the other three as to who will join them, but Denmark to join England in the next round are our tip, but Serbia will fancy their chances of progressing in third.

Euro 2024 Group C Team Profiles

Denmark

After winning the competition in 1992, the Danish national side suffered something of a fall from grace, struggling to make it out of the group stage and not even qualifying for two of the following tournaments.

However, a new generation of talent has emerged in Denmark and they will now be looking to build on their semi-final finish at Euro 2020 this summer, though they were less than convincing in qualifying having suffered two defeats in what was a relatively weak group, to Kazakhstan and Northern Ireland.

They have plenty of experience in the squad with the likes of Simon Kjaer, Christian Eriksen, Kasper Schmeichel and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, and will look towards Rasmus Hojlund to provide the star quality they have been lacking in previous years.

England

After several years of progressing to the latter stages of major tournaments but failing to lift any silverware, could this finally be the year this England side delivers on its undoubted promise?

In Harry Kane, Jude Bellingham, Declan Rice and John Stones they have a spine of world class players playing at the peak of their powers - though in Bellingham’s case there could be even more to come - with a history of performing in major tournaments, and in theory there should be nothing to fear from whoever they come up against.

When you add in players such as Phil Foden, Marcus Rashford, Luke Shaw and Kyle Walker, it looks as though they have every base covered and Gareth Southgate will be hoping he has accrued enough experience himself to guide England through to the latter stages, where they will hope the experience of losing to Italy in the final at Wembley three years ago will spur them on to the next step.

Serbia

Serbia are set to take part in their first-ever European Championship tournament this summer. Serbia was previously part of Yugoslavia and reached two finals in the 1960s.

But after the completed dissolution of Yugoslavia in 2006, the Serbia national team did not qualify for the next four European Championships it played qualifiers for, before finally securing a spot at this summer’s Euros.

They scraped through somewhat in qualifying with two losses and two defeats in their eight matches still enough to keep them ahead of Montenegro, and there will be questions over whether Aleksandar Mitrovic is still the same player after a yer in Saudi Arabia, while Dusan Tadic will be 35 heading into the tournament and it could be one-step too far.

Slovenia

Slovenia head into Euro 2024 as one of the tournament’s underdogs. They only started competing at the European Championships in 1996 after splitting from FR Yugoslavia, and have so far qualified for just one tournament in their history.

That appearance came in 2000 and saw Slovenia fail to win a single group game, finishing bottom of their group as a result, but they performed impressive in qualifying, finishing level on points with Denmark who they will come up against in Germany.

Players such as Jan Oblak, Benjamin Sesko and Petar Stojanovic will have a huge role to play and they could be a tricky opponent to face, more than capable of making life difficult for the likes of England.
