Atalanta will be looking to finish their Serie A season with a flourish when they host Fiorentina on Sunday evening.
Having lifted their first major piece of silverware in over 60 years when they dismantled Bayer Leverkusen 3-0 in the Europa League Final, this has been a tremendous campaign for Atalanta.
Although they fell just short of clinching the Coppa Italia when they were defeated by Juventus in the Final, Gian Piero Gasperini’s charges can climb above the Old Lady and seal third spot in the table, and Champions League football has already been secured.
Fiorentina, on the other hand, will be bruised from an extra-time defeat to Olympiacos in the Europa Conference League Final in midweek, and there is little riding on this league clash.
They can’t finish any lower than eighth, and they will have to contend with another campaign playing in Europe’s third-tier competition.

A force to be reckoned with over the past few seasons, Atalanta have made significant headway, and Gasperini has helped them reach new levels.
