West Indies v England Cricket Betting Tips - 1st T20I

England are aiming to gain revenge following a 2-1 ODI series defeat, but they’re showing very few signs of progression ahead of this T20 international series in our cricket betting tips.

West Indies v England Match Preview
I have generally given England the benefit of the doubt. They should be returning better results with the talent they have. But something isn’t right.
Some will say too much cricket is forcing problematic unavailability, and I can buy into that view. However, they still have some serious cricketers at their disposal. It will be interesting to see what Brendon McCullum makes of things come January.
I felt England would win the ODI series, but no. I was always less confident for the T20 series.
Jos Buttler comes back from injury after four months. How quickly will he settle? You would think they will want to have a look at newbies Jafer Chohan and Michael Pepper at some point. How quickly will they settle?
West Indies, for all their troubles in recent years, have always maintained a strength in T20 cricket. They are a force to be reckoned with. It surprises me that they are series outsiders at 6/5 with bet365, a price I would be taking for a home win.
BoyleSports also have them at 1/1 to win game one of a series which is played through until a week on Sunday.
We could see the tasty combination of Salt and Pepper in this series
I have compiled a three-fold bet builder with bet365, which is on offer at 21/10.
That’s for West Indies to hit the most sixes in the match, for there to be a fifty scored by either team and for the highest individual score in this series opener to be over 63.5.
Phil Salt and Michael Pepper have played against each other in the past. In fact, Salt stumped Pepper whilst playing for Lancashire against Essex in the Vitality Blast quarter-final at Emirates Old Trafford in 2022.
But they have never played together (aside from a sub-fielding cameo from Pepper in the ODI game on Wednesday).
It may not happen in game one, but the chances are it will at some point over the next 10 days or so.
Salt will start the series, and he is keeping as well as opening, with captain Jos Buttler easing himself back into action following injury.
Salt is in decent form following back-to-back fifties, and I can see him impressing again. BoyleSports have him at 7/2 to be England’s top run-scorer in the match.
The same firm also have West Indies opener Brandon King at a juicy 9/2 to be the West Indies’ top batter in the opener.
He scored a century in Wednesday’s deciding ODI in Barbados and was his side’s top run-scorer in their last T20I series against Sri Lanka last month, owing to scores of 63 and 23 in two of their three matches. I think 9/2 on an opener in form is too good to turn your back on.
