Weekend Boxing Betting Tips: 30/1 Acca including Teofimo Lopez, Bam Rodriguez, Sunny Edwards

Go big or go home is our mantra in this weekend’s Big Boxing Acca.

Four genuine stars of their divisions are on show in Miami and Arizona this weekend, with world titles on the line and points to prove in a number of sub-stories.

It’s a 30/1 shot with bet365 that we are trying to reel in, so let’s have a look at the three legs:

Weekend Boxing Betting Tips

Sunny Edwards to beat Adrian Curiel Dominguez

Sunny Edwards is on the comeback trail after getting beat-up at the hands of Bam Rodriguez in December.

The former world champion has, however, jumped back into the deep end for his return, taking on former light-flyweight world champion Adrian Curiel Dominguez.

The Mexican isn’t a banger, but is as durable as they come and is likely to give Sunny Edwards a tough night in Arizona.

Edwards is a smart boxer off the back foot and if he isn’t too badly affected from his first career defeat, then he should get back to winning ways in a lop-sided decision win.

Jesse “Bam” Rodriguez to beat Juan Francisco Estrada by Decision/Techincal Decision

Don’t blink during what could be a memorable 12 rounds between Estrada and Rodriguez this weekend.

47 fights into his incredible career, Juan Francisco Estrada is fighting off Father Time as well as his opposition in his latter years, and the vibrancy of youth in Bam Rodriguez at 24 could pose a passing of the torch moment in the super-flyweight division.

Rodriguez is unbeaten in his 19 fights and is already a two-weight world champion at such a tender age.

He’s bested the likes of Sunny Edwards, Srisaket Sor Rungvisai and Carlos Cuadras since turning pro in 2017, and is fast becoming one of the biggest (littlest!) stars in the game.

But these ‘head down, throw bombs’ kind of fights usually stand a good chance of going the distance, especially when you consider the experience and nous of Estrada. Rodriguez will probably have that extra couple of percent in the tank, and edge it on the cards.

Teofimo Lopez to beat Steve Claggett in Rounds 1-3

Saturday night’s headliner in Miami feels something of a precession.

Teofimo Lopez is a genuine star at super-lightweight and, despite a few disappointing performances across the last two years, the 26-year-old is still a genuine contender to move the needle in the pound-for-pound rankings with a couple more wins under his belt.

“The Takeover” has won his last three fights on the scorecards so will be hungry for a knockout win in Miami to take his tally to 14 KOs and wake up a division that may have been sleeping on him since his solitary loss to George Kambosos Jr in 2021.

Steve Claggett has never been close to this level in his career.

The 35-year-old Canadian has a modest 38-7-2 record and is well and truly out of his depth on Saturday night. He can bang, but will be overwhelmed by Lopez early and if we’re going to land an early KO then this is the opportunity...
