Weekend Boxing 9/1 Acca featuring Gervonta Davis, Chris Billam-Smith & David Benavidez...

There were plenty of headlines written this past weekend in Saudi Arabia.

We’re heading to two jewels of the boxing landscape this weekend, but for different reasons…

Las Vegas hosts one of the most electrifying fighters in the sport in Gervonta Davis on Saturday night, but first, we head to south London and Crystal Palace’s Selhurst Park for an old-fashioned British dust-up.

Sprinkle on top a return to the ring for David Benavidez and this weekend’s boxing action is bordering on unmissable from both sides of the pond.

Let’s take a look at the 9/1 Acca we’ve thrown together for this weekend’s action, plus the best boxing betting offers currently available from the top bookmakers.

Chris Billam-Smith vs Richard Riakporhe – Fight to go the Distance

Chris Billam-Smith will put his WBO world cruiserweight title on the line this Saturday night in a rematch that is five years in the making.

Richard Riakporhe is the man in the opposite corner and the only man to own a victory on CBS’s resume via a split decision victory back in 2019.

But there has been a lot of water under the bridge since then.

Combined, the pair of Briton’s have gone 17-0 across that time, with Billam-Smith becoming world champion and Riakporhe gaining fantastic momentum in what is an extremely competitive division.

On paper — as well as back in 2019 — it’s very hard to split these two men, and rather than siding with a winner inside Selhurst Park, 4/6 looks too good to turn down for this fight to go the distance of 12 rounds.

Both men have recorded 13 KOs as professionals, but Riakporhe is probably the biggest puncher of the two. But when you twin this with the old school toughness of CBS and his chin, then you can see why some in the industry and citing this one as a coin toss.

David Benavidez to beat Oleksandr Gvozdyk by Decision/Technical Decision

David Benavidez may well be en route to the upper echelons of the pound-for-pound debate.

The Mexican super-middleweight has blitzed his way through the 168-pound division thanks to 23 KOs in 28 wins, and is currently chasing a fight that could well cement his position as one of the very best in the sport: Canelo Alvarez.

But first, it’s Oleksandr Gvozdyk – a Ukrainian looking to follow in the extraordinary footsteps of Vasyl Lomachenko and Oleksandr Usyk.

Gvozdyk retired in 2019 but is back in an attempt to re-find his footing in the light-heavyweight division, however, he has probably bitten off more than he can chew in Benavidez.

The 27-year-old will be fighting up at the 175-pound limit for the first time, and it looks like it will suit his size and frame perfectly. Benavidez is tall, lengthy in his reach and holds that secret recipe to KO power, but he may need to warm into the light-heavyweight division.

Gvozdyk is a skilled former amateur and Olympian and he won’t simply walk onto Benavidez’s attacks. We fully expect Benavidez to win, but back him on the cards at a great price.

Gervonta Davis to beat Frank Martin by KO/TKO/Disqualification

One of the most talented and polarizing stars in boxing is back in the ring on Saturday.

Gervonta Davis returns to the ring for the first time in 14 months, challenging his loud, brash, former sparring partner Frank Martin in a defence of his world title in the lightweight division.

The pair have enjoyed a heated build up to this fight at the 135-pound limit. Their grudge was formed in the Mayweather gym and since, conflicting stories have come out of the sessions on who fared better and who came out on top.

But in Las Vegas on Saturday night we will get an answer of who is top dog between “Tank” and Frank.

Davis is a huge 1/8 FAV with bet365, but the KO victory (adding to the 27 KOs in 29 fights) squeezes a the value into the Acca, as we predict an emotional Martin to walk onto some of Davis’ dynamite punches.
