Vitality T20 Blast Betting Tips: Lancashire v Yorkshire
Lancashire are aiming for revenge after defeat at Headingley last month. If they get it, they could qualify for the quarter-finals.Our T20 Blast betting tips preview concentrates on a blockbuster night

- Lancashire to win - 8/11 with William Hill
- Tom Hartley to take two wickets or more - 7/4 with bet365
- Phil Salt to be Lancashire’s top-scorer - 11/4 with Paddy Power
- James Wharton to be Yorkshire’s top-scorer - 13/2 with betfair
The Roses, for me, beats any other domestic rivalry in the world when it comes to cricket. Forget the Sydney Smash, forget Mumbai Indians v Chennai Super Kings. This one, 100 percent, tops the lot.
It’s a fixture which always seems to deliver high drama. You never come away feeling short-changed.
This is taking place amidst the business end of the group stage. Lancashire are flying high towards the top of the table and on course for the quarter-finals, whereas Yorkshire are scrambling for qualification.
With that in mind, it’s somewhat of a surprise that Yorkshire won the return match at Headingley last month. But they do have plenty of quality without being consistent.
This is one of eight fixtures across the competition this evening, and we’ll touch on some of them later on. But let’s concentrate on Emirates Old Trafford first of all.
Lancashire have a fabulous record at Emirates Old Trafford, where they have not lost a group fixture since the end of 2020 - the shortened Covid summer.
They are 8/11 with William Hill to win, a price I would be taking, despite Yorkshire coming into this one on the back of a win against Durham last night in which their leg-spinner Jafer Chohan claimed five wickets.

Spin it to win it - Lancashire v Yorkshire Tips
There is plenty of batting talent on show, with the likes of Phil Salt and Dawid Malan in the respective teams. But I don’t see this being a run-fest.
Emirates Old Trafford is generally spin-friendly, and both teams have been strong in that regard this season.
England spinner Tom Hartley is 7/4 with bet365 to take two wickets or more in the match, which I think is well worth taking on.
There’s a price on individual success for Yorkshire which surprises me with how juicy it is.
But, first, Salt is returning to Lancashire colours tonight, and he’s 11/4 to be Lancashire’s top run-scorer with Paddy Power.
I expect it will be easier to score against the new ball before the spinners come more to the fore. He had a decent World Cup, so should be able to slot back in seamlessly in this fixture.
That juicy price I mentioned is on Yorkshire number three James Wharton, who is 13/2 - with betfair - to be the top Vikings batter on the night. Here is a young player who hit a Blast hundred last year and scored a big four-day century for them the week before last.
He hasn’t set the Blast alight this summer by any means, but I think for a player with quality who comes in at number three that price is worth a low stakes approach.

And to finish with, I have a results four-fold from around the grounds this evening coming in at 8/1 with bet365.
I fancy Nottinghamshire to win at Durham in a game between two teams who are struggling at present, Lancashire to beat Yorkshire, Northamptonshire to win at Leicestershire and Birmingham to beat Worcestershire.
