US PGA Championship Betting - Scheffler on the drift after police incident

World number one Scottie Scheffler has been detained by police near Valhalla Golf Club ahead of the second round of the US PGA Championship.

US PGA Championship Betting Odds

  • Xander Schauffele - 15/8
  • Scottie Scheffler - 9/2
  • Rory McIlroy - 5/1
  • Brooks Koepka - 14/1
  • Collin Morikawa - 14/1

Odds correct at time of writing (May 17, 12:30pm)

With the news this morning that World Number 1 Scottie Scheffler was handcuffed by police at Valhalla following a traffic violation, bookmakers have quickly altered their US PGA Championship betting odds.

Having been as short as 3/1 this morning, Scheffler is now a top-price 9/2 with bet365 after finishing the first round on 4-under par, five shots behind leader Xander Schauffele.

Schauffele hit a major record-equalling 62 in Kentucky to set the pace in the first round of the US PGA Championship and he’s now been trimmed to 15/8 with Paddy Power.

Clearly, after a tumultuous morning, there will be doubts about Scheffler’s state of mind as he looks to add to his Masters title at Augusta.
