Tottenham v Roma Match Preview
Saturday night's demolition of Manchester City could be a landmark game for Ange Postecoglou, but it could be another false dawn for the club if they don't follow it up.
Too many times - this season never mind in the past - they have produced standout performances only to fall at the next hurdle, none more so than successive wins over City and Aston Villa followed by defeats to Galatasaray and Ipswich, so it feels like this is a perfect opportunity to put that right.
A home game against Roma is a good match-up for Postecoglou's men, before games against Fulham and Bournemouth offer a realistic proposition of four wins on the bounce.
They remain really difficult to predict however, and considering they have made a decent start to the Europa League so far this season, I wouldn't be surprised to see the starting XI rotated once again and a bit of inconsistency remain.
It would be nice to see the regular players kept in the side to build up a head of steam, but with so many games coming between now and Christmas I would expect changes, but I still have them as favourites here.
Look at the team they sent out in Turkey, with Archie Gray, Will Lankshear and Lucas Bergvall all starting before some of the regulars were summoned from the bench.
So they're going to be pretty unpredictable and I reckon we could have a fun game on our hands, but one thing that falls in their favour is Roma's appalling form this season with three wins and six defeats domestically in Italy, seeing them 12th in Serie A.
They haven't won since the end of October but have been pretty goal-happy, so I'm going with a Spurs win and BTTS at 15/8 with William Hill as my first tip in this game.
The second tip is a much harder one.
Will Dominic Solanke or James Maddison start? Will Brennan Johnson be in the XI? It's a really difficult call because I have no doubt Postecoglou will rotate, but exactly how much is the question.
The aforementioned Johnson is one player I do expect to star though. He was on the bench on Saturday and scored late on to continue his great form this season, so I'm going for a little bet builder for my second tip.
I think Johnson will score, Spurs will win and with a -1 handicap, and that comes in at a great price of 14/1 with Unibet which I think is well worth a look at.
