The Tim Easterby-trained COUNT D’ORSAY (Each-Way) may not be the most prolific of winners, but two of his seven career wins have come over this course and distance.
Last seen when down the field at Beverley last month, the eight-year-old is now lurking on a potentially dangerous handicap mark and could be the betting value in a wide-open-looking race.
He’s now 2lbs below his last winning mark, and with plenty of pace drawn around him, he should hopefully get a nice tow into the race under David Allan and be in the mix at the business end of proceedings.
8:25pm Ripon - Emu War
EMU WAR was unlucky in bumping into a winner without a penalty at Hamilton last time out, but the Karl Burke-trained three-year-old can get off the mark this evening at Ripon for owners Nick Bradley Racing.
That second-place effort came from a mark of 59, and he races tonight from the same mark, with his main rival being On The Bubble, who aims to overcome a 6lb penalty for last week’s course and distance success.
A drifter in the betting this morning, the market vibes aren’t strong for On The Bubble, while there has been cash around for Emu War, which should be noted.
