Rangers v Tottenham Match Preview
Thursday night will see Ange Postecoglou's return to Glasgow for the first time since he joined Tottenham 18 months ago, and with the Australian under pressure after a poor run it's unlikely to be a comfortable night at Ibrox.
The Spurs boss is sure to get a hostile reception from Rangers fans following his successful spell at Celtic, and with Spurs without a win in four, he needs to get a result.
The Tottenham hierarchy has come out in support of Postecoglou since the disappointing collapse to Chelsea on Sunday, which saw his side take a 2-0 lead before surrendering it and going down 4-3 to make it back-to-back defeats.
It was another result which suggested the soft under-belly Spurs have been mocked for for so many years, is still as prevalent as ever and Postecoglou could really do with a Europa League run to mask the poor domestic form.
They currently sit ninth in the table. That's by no means a disaster, but they would have their eyes on automatic qualification for the next round and a positive result at Ibrox would go a long way towards that.
With it likely to be a keenly-fought game, I would expect Spurs to field a strong side having rotated heavily so far in the competition.
It won't be easy against a Rangers side in good form and scoring goals, having beaten Nice 4-1 recently in what has been an encouraging Europa League campaign after a disappointing exit from the Champions League.
I'm expecting a pretty tight game here, with a draw my tip for the outcome of the match - with both teams scoring added into the mix - available at 18/5 with BetVictor.
Brennan Johnson has been in great form for Spurs this season and is their best attacking threat at the moment. He is 8/1 to score the first goal with Paddy Power.
