James Cook Over 60.5 Rushing Yards
The Rams’ run defence has struggled throughout the season, conceding 144.2 rushing yards per game (28th in the NFL) and 4.6 yards per carry (joint 20th). Just last week, the New Orleans Saints amassed 143 rushing yards against Los Angeles, while two weeks ago, the Rams surrendered an enormous 314 rushing yards to the Philadelphia Eagles.
The Bills will aim to capitalise on the Rams’ weakness against the run, so we’ll begin our Rams v Bills tips with James Cook. In Buffalo’s commanding 35-10 victory over the San Francisco 49ers last Monday, Cook delivered 14 carries for 107 yards and a touchdown.
Cook is a key player in Buffalo’s backfield. The one-time Pro Bowl running back has accumulated 703 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns in 11 games this season, averaging 4.7 yards per carry. Cook has surpassed 60 rushing yards in three of his last five outings.
Kyren Williams Over 69.5 Rushing Yards
The Bills have also struggled to contain the run, conceding 121.9 rushing yards per game (18th in the NFL) and 4.9 yards per carry (joint 28th). Although Buffalo comfortably defeated San Francisco in Week 13, the 49ers still managed to rack up 153 rushing yards.
However, Buffalo’s passing defence has been far more formidable. The Bills allow only 9.7 yards per reception (2nd) and 199.7 passing yards per game (8th). They’ve already notched 13 interceptions this season (joint 4th).
For the Rams to stand a chance against the Bills, they’ll need to lean heavily on their ground game. Kyren Williams will play a pivotal role, and the Pro Bowl running back should comfortably exceed the 69.5-yard mark.
Williams is having an excellent season, with 222 carries for 926 yards and ten touchdowns across 12 games. The Rams have consistently relied on him, and he’s had at least 15 carries in each of his last ten outings.
Last week, in a 21-14 victory over the New Orleans Saints, Williams recorded 15 carries for 104 yards and a touchdown. He has surpassed 70 rushing yards in eight of his previous ten games, including the last three.
