PGA Tour Golf Betting Tips & Betting Offers: Sony Open

The PGA Tour will remain rooted in Hawaii this week for the staging of the Sony Open.
One of the oldest tournaments on the pro circuit, the Sony Open which has been a mainstay on the tour since 1965, will see the action broadcast from Waialae Country Club in Honolulu.
Hideki Matsuyama set out his stall last weekend by romping to a three-stroke victory and he shot an outrageous total of -35, the lowest score in relation to par in PGA Tour history.
Spare a thought for Collin Morikawa, who carded a total of -32 which before last week had been the third-lowest score ever.
Morikawa was my pick last week, and once again, I have gone in search of value with my betting tips.
Accuracy will crucial at the Sony Open as the course measures just over 7,000 yards, making it one of the shortest layouts on the PGA Tour.
To whet your appetite, I have delved through the markets and plucked out a couple of golf betting tips for this tournament, plus the top golf betting offers from the best golf betting sites.

Sony Open Preview
Hideki Matsuyama to turn on the style again
Matsuyama certainly laid down the gauntlet, and perhaps this could be his year.
The Japanese star who has now chalked up 11 wins on the PGA Tour, sealed the deal at The Sentry with a final round of -8 (65), and he was sublime.
We all know that when his putter is firing, Matsuyama will take some stopping.
At The Sentry, he carded 33 birdies and two eagles that included a 107-yard hole-out from the fairway. There were just two bogeys all week which is extraordinary.
With low scores on offer once again, typically -20 for the past 12 editions of the Sony Open, Matsuyama will be licking his lips, and let’s not forget that he won this event three years ago which augurs well.
Going back-to-back on the PGA Tour can be notoriously difficult, but Matsuyama has the wind in his sails. For the first of my golf betting tips, I’m going with Matsuyama to lift the trophy and he’s the favourite at 9/1 with Paddy Power.
Russell Henley to be in the mix come Sunday
It would be remiss to discuss the Sony Open without bringing Russell Henley into the conversation.
The experienced American is on the roll of honour at Waialae, and he also had top-four finishes in 2022 and 2024.
While he had to settle for T30 at The Sentry, Henley chalked up some impressive results last season, most notably in the majors.
Although there are a few players arriving into the tournament in decent form, such as Corey Conners, Henley could be in the upper echelons of the leaderboard.
Henley may not end up in the winner’s circle, but to round things off, I fancy him to be in the final pairing come Sunday, and bet365 has a neat price of 14/1 tagged on to that potential outcome.
