Netherlands v Turkey Betting Tips, Odds & Match Preview - Euro 2024

The Netherlands and Turkey will round off the Euro 2024 quarter-final ties on Saturday evening when they collide at the Olympiastadion in Berlin.

In reaching the last eight, it was the first time Netherlands had achieved the feat of securing back-to-back quarter-final berths at major tournaments since Euro 2008 and the 2010 World Cup.

By producing arguably their best performance to date in their 3-0 win over Romania, the Netherlands won’t be able to sneak under the radar any more.

Standing in the way will be Turkey, who fended off Austria, scoring the second-quickest goal in European Championship history. It was the fastest ever recorded in the knockout stages.

Ronald Koeman chose to roll the dice by starting Steven Bergwijn for the Netherlands against Romania, but it didn’t pay off, hooking the player off in favour of Donyell Malen who made a more tangible impact, netting twice.

Meanwhile, Turkey are expected to welcome back captain Halkan Calhonoglou and defender Samet Akaydin back into the fold after they both served one-match bans.

But how will this game transpire? To whet your appetite for this game, I have delivered an in-depth preview sprinkled with a couple of Netherlands Turkey betting tips to mull over.

We’ve looked at some of the best football betting offers, odds and markets from our range of football betting sites to provide you with Netherlands v Turkey betting tips.

Netherlands v Turkey Match Preview

Oranje to march into the semi-finals

At times, it has been hard to get a good read on the Netherlands during the Euros.

Dominant but wasteful against Poland, their defensive frailties were exposed against Austria, but the victory over Romania will have been a huge confidence booster.

There was a hatful of chances missed against Romania, but the introduction of Malen was inspired while Cody Gakpo was a menace.

Xavi Simons orchestrated things well in midfield, and he became the youngest player in European Championship history at 21 years and 72 days to assist in back-to-back games.

Turkey, meanwhile, are through to their third Euro quarter-final, and their victory over Austria saw all three goals scored from the corners, the first time that had happened in the tournament.

The Netherlands’ side of the draw may look promising, and I expect them to make light work of Turkey.

For my opening tip, I think the Netherlands to win to nil line looks enticing, and BetVictor has dished up a price of 9/5 for you to tuck into.

Cody Gakpo on the goal trail again

Against Romania, Cody Gakpo had a starring role, and while the goalkeeper could have arguably done better as he was beaten at the near post, Gakpo has become the Netherlands’ main talisman.

To date, Gakpo has weighed in with three goals at the Euros, level with Georgia’s Georges Mikautadze and Jamal Musiala, and he will certainly keep the Turkey rearguard on their toes.

Although Turkey have shown flashes of brilliance, which has been in part down to Arda Guler, Gakpo could well steal the show.

I think Gakpo will be on the goal trail, and he could net a brace against Turkey. If you are tempted, bet365 has posted odds of 11/1 for that outcome to be fulfilled.
