We have two UK horse racing meeting on Wednesday afternoon, with action coming from Musselburgh in Scotland and Thirsk in North Yorkshire.

Both cards offer some good betting opportunities, and we’ve got horse racing tips at both this afternoon.

Check out below to read about one horse from both Musselburgh and Thirsk, which have been tipped up by our resident horse racing expert Charlie McCann.

Today’s Horse Racing Tips

We have two selections to follow today, with one each from the two afternoon meetings. Check out the thoughts of Charlie McCann below, as he looks to find us a couple of winners on Wednesday.

Musselburgh Tips

Charlie has one horse in Scotland, his NAP of the day runs in the Musselburgh 4:05pm and you can read his thoughts below:

SHINE ON BRENDAN (Nap) has won the nine-furlong handicap for the last couple of years, and he looks sure to run a big race in his hat-trick bid. Twelve months ago, he scored from a 1lb higher mark, and Jim Goldie claims 5lbs this year courtesy of Alex Jary.

The selection looked to be coming to hand when beaten less than a length at Hamilton last time off today’s mark when he got on well with his talented apprentice. He has little to fear from Flight Of Angels on that run, although I hope to see the Charlie Johnston-trained four-year-old go forward from her plum draw and help set the race up for the gelding.

Liam Bailey saddles a couple, and top-weight Man Of A’An is the 20/1 outsider of the field in the Racing Post tissue. He has finished last in all three starts for the yard since leaving Harry Eustace, but they have been on the all-weather and soft ground, and his third to Finest Leader at Newbury when not staying 10f from a 9lbs higher mark is particularly good form in the context of this race.

If the market suggests that a return to form is on the cards, then I will certainly save on, with Jason Watson a positive booking.

Thirsk Tips

Charlie picks out one selection in North Yorkshire, with his views on the Thirsk 2:45pm below:

The Crafty Mole is unbeaten in three starts at 1m 6f and looked well ahead of his mark when scoring at Yarmouth last week and a 6lbs penalty will not prevent him going close again if over Friday’s exertions.

He has met BELIEVITANDUCAN twice earlier in the season and finished in front of the selection but Jessica Macey’s three-year-old is 11lbs better off at the weights with the likely market leader for the length he was behind The Crafty Mole at Redcar when last seen in May.

Macey had a winner at Doncaster last week under Lewis Edmunds, who takes over in the plate on the selection this afternoon. In an ideal world, I would not want a real test at this trip as there is a suspicion that a mile-and-a-half will be his optimum trip, but the same can be said of Nancy P, who scored at Lingfield last time from a 5lbs lower mark.
