Mikel Arteta sends request to Arsenal fans ahead of Bayern Munich

Arsenal must turn their attention away from the Premier League title race this week as they return to Champions League action.

The Gunners are set to face off with Bayern Munich in a quarter-final tie at the Emirates on Tuesday evening and are 8/11 favourites to pick up the win with bet365.

Mikel Arteta sends message to Arsenal fans

Ahead of the game, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has issued a request to Gunners fans.

Arsenal are currently unbeaten in 2024 and well in the race to lift the Premier League title. However, the north Londoners’ record in the Champions League suggests they are still underdogs against Bayern Munich.

Arsenal have not made it to the semi-final stage of the competition for a staggering 15 years, last doing so back in 2008/09 when they lost to eventual winners, Manchester United.

Bayern Munich, on the other hand, are a regular feature in the latter stages of the competition and even won it in 2020.

Now, ahead of such a huge game, Mikel Arteta has called on Arsenal supporters to create a ‘special atmosphere’ at the Emirates:

“I’m looking forward to it,” he told the club’s media channels. “We have to create a special atmopshere again and go for it.”
