Manchester City’s Phil Foden provides injury update after limping off vs Real Madrid

Manchester City faced off with Real Madrid in the Spanish capital on Tuesday evening in the first of two Champions League quarter-final ties.

The Sky Blues went 1-0 up after just two minutes in Madrid but in the end, had to settle for a 3-3 draw. The Manchester outfit are now 4/6 with bet365 to pick up a win in the reverse leg at the Etihad Stadium on April 17.

Phil Foden injury update

After Bernardo Silva put Manchester City 1-0 up after two minutes, Real Madrid quickly hit back with two goals in the 12th and 14th minutes.

The Sky Blues were unable to find an equaliser for some time but Phil Foden and Josko Gvardiol eventually found the net midway through the second half to put Pep Guardiola’s side in front. However, Federico Valverde was able to salvage a draw for the home team in the 79th minute.

Despite not coming away with the win, Manchester City largely impressed in Spain, but they appeared to have picked up an injury concern following the game after Phil Foden limped off in the closing stages of the match.

However, speaking to TNT Sports post-match, Foden confirmed his issue was merely a dead leg and that he hoped to be available for City’s League clash with Luton on Saturday:

“Just got a bad dead leg at the end, time to recover before next games so hopefully I can,” he said.

“For the fans it must’ve been one of the best games they could’ve watched. Two great teams with the best attackers in the world. What the fans want to see and plenty of goals.”
