Jack Catterall v Regis Prograis Boxing Betting Tips & Betting Offers

It’s a case of winner stays on inside the Co-op Live Arena this Saturday night as Jack Catterall and Regis Prograis go toe-to-toe in the super-lightweight division in an attempt to springboard themselves back into world title contention.
The new arena in Manchester will be showcasing a boxing event for the first time since opening it’s doors to the public, with Catterall and Prograis headlining an excellent card that will be streamed live on DAZN.
Reece Bellotti, Pat McCormack and a rematch between James Flint and Campbell Hatton feature on the undercard in Lancashire, but all eyes will be on the main event between two of the best 140-pounders in the world.
Let’s take a closer look at the fight that will be lighting up the Co-op Live Arena this Saturday night, plus the top boxing betting offers from the best betting sites.
Jack Catterall v Regis Prograis Betting Tips
Check out below our two betting tips for Catterall v Prograis on Saturday evening.
Jack Catterall to beat Regis Prograis by Unanimous Decision
If this fight is to play out according to both fighter’s last appearances, then it’s impossible not to conclude that Catterall is going to waltz to a victory on the scorecards.
There is a strong possibility that Prograis, at 35, is a spent force in the division, and an illusive, sharp, counter-puncher is the last type of fighter that the American will want to dance with.
Catterall has had his problems with judges in the past, but if he is to do what is expected on Saturday night, the three “wise” men at ringside will probably give “El Gato” the cream.
Fight to go the Distance
Considering Prograis is the ‘puncher’ of the two, it’s hard to see this one not go the 12-round distance.
“Rougarou” is a proud man but a smart fighter; if he is down bad on the scorecards then it’s hard to see him rolling the dice in desperation late in the fight when he has a number of pay-days left in his career.
Catterall has won his last five fights via unanimous decision.
Campbell Hatton to beat James Flint by Decision/Technical Decision
The highlight of the undercard is a rematch between Campbell Hatton and the man who took his ‘0’ back in March, James Flint.
Doncaster’s Flint used his experience to retain his Central Area title and upset the son of Ricky Hatton, but this rematch reeks of revenge.
Fine tuning the potential of Campbell Hatton will probably enable him to do enough work in this scheduled 10-rounder, especially in the eyes of the judges who will be encouraged by the story behind the 23-year-old Hatton.
Jack Catterall v Regis Prograis - Fight Preview
Every fighter will tell you that the most important fight of their career is the next one, but this couldn’t be truer on Saturday night as Catterall and Prograis walk into what is essentially a super-lightweight semi-final.
The winner will be expecting to line up a world title fight against the winner of Liam Paro and Richardson Hitchins’s IBF world title fight in December, with Eddie Hearn and DAZN holding all the cards in this section of the division, surely able to match the winners.
The disparity in odds for Saturday’s clash is due to each fighter’s last performance.
Catterall – the betting FAV at 1/4 with bet365 – avenged the solitary loss of his career against Josh Taylor back in May this year, whereas Prograis – the 3/1 betting underdog – was outclassed and schooled by fellow-American Devin Haney, losing his WBC title in the progress.
18 months ago this fight would have been considered a 50/50 fight, but career momentum and trajectory is a strong factor in boxing, and fingers seem to be pointing the way of “El Gato”.
Jack Catterall (29-1, 13 KO)
Jack Catterall could easily argue his corner as being one of Britain’s most in-form fighters at present.
The 31-year-old southpaw is 29-1 across his 12-year pro career, with the only blemish on his record coming via a highly controversial split decision loss to Josh Taylor back in 2022.
Wins over Tyrone Nurse, Tyrone McKenna and Ohara Davies cemented Catterall’s place as one of the best domestic talents at 140-lbs, but his losing effort to Taylor two years ago really accelerated him into the global conversation and he has since taken impressive points wins over Darragh Foley, Jorge Linares and the previously mentioned rematch with Taylor.
What Catterall lacks in punch power he more than makes up for in ring smarts and boxing IQ. He’s a slick counter-puncher, clever boxer-mover and is happiest off the back foot countering the front-footed work of his opponent.
Regis Prograis (29-2, 24 KO)
Back in 2019 you’d be forgiven for including Regis Prograis in your pound-for-pound lists.
The New Orleans southpaw had won the interim super-lightweight title against a dangerous Julius Indongo, and in his following contests cruised past Terry Flanagan and Kiryl Relikh to reach the final of the World Boxing Super Series in London.
A majority decision loss to Josh Taylor – in what topped many Fight of the Year lists – handed him his first loss of his career, and you could easily argue that he’s looked a faded force since that razor-thin loss.
Notable wins over Ivan Redkach, Tyrone McKenna and Jose Zepeda where scrubbed out by a one-sided loss to Devin Haney last December, and Prograis is back as a headliner this weekend trying to right the wrongs of that night in San Francisco.
Prograis definitely holds the most power when compared to Catterall but is by no means a pressure fighter – the American is happiest slugging it out in close-quarters, relying on his work rate and willingness to trade.
