Huddersfield v Barnsley Match Preview
We kick off on Saturday afternoon with Huddersfield down in 15th position, and Barnsley in 7th.
It's fair to say that both teams have incredibly disappointed fanbases right now, and talk of managerial sackings has not escaped both Darrell Clarke at Barnsley and Michael Duff at Huddersfield.
The good news is both are close, despite an uneven start, a win here puts Barnsley up to 2nd, a win for Huddersfield leaves them level with the playoffs. It's early days, and a lot can change.
The Huddersfield story so far is one of a style of play that isn't quite clicking, and nowhere near the amount of goals that people were expecting.
For Barnsley, it's been defensive troubles, conceding sloppy goals, and points thrown away at home.
The game has an extra edge to it, being a local derby, with about 25 minutes separating the two despite them being in different parts of Yorkshire.
And let's not forget, Huddersfield boss Michael Duff was formerly at Barnsley, almost got them promoted into the Championship at the first attempt, but then left for pastures new, which some still haven't forgiven him for.
To begin my tips, I think both teams are good enough to come into this game and avoid defeat, but at the same time, I don't think either are playing well enough to go and actually win it.
A draw looks the best bet, but with Barnsley's defensive troubles, I do see goals, so to get a bit of value, I'll head to the correct score market where I like the chances of a 1-1 draw at 6/1 here.
For my second tip, I go to the Barnsley front line, where Stephen Humphrys, a deadline day signing, has already won over the fans at Oakwell.
He's scored in two of his last three games, a last minute winner away at Burton Albion, and then an instant impact from the bench on Tuesday at home to Wycombe, to get Barnsley back level in that one.
A sub on both of those occasions, he's chomping at the bit to start, and I think he gets that here. At just over 3/1 to grab a goal with the bookies, Humphrys to score anytime at 16/5 looks good value.
