With five wins out of six combined matches in the Europa League, both Galatasaray and Tottenham have already made a case as contenders for this season’s silver vase-slash-cup.
They sit fifth and second, respectively, in the monster league table and are, in their own rights, both coming off good domestic performances to boost their moods into matchday four.
The Turkish giants enjoyed a 2-1 home victory over rivals Besiktas last weekend, and Tottenham have gone back-to-back in home wins over two sides that finished above them in the Premier League last season – Manchester City and Aston Villa.
But Tottenham’s possible absentee list can’t be ignored for Thursday’s trip.
Richarlison, Micky van de Ven and Wilson Odobert all miss the trip to Istanbul and Cristian Romero is a serious doubt after hobbling off against Villa on Sunday, meaning Postecoglou is more than likely to be without his first-choice centre-back pairing inside Rams Park.

As good as Spurs have been over the past couple of matches, they never seem too far away from another mini-crisis.
Sure, they have recorded away wins at Old Trafford, Ferencvaros’ Groupama Arena and the *cough* Coventry Building Society Arena, but a trip to “Hell” could be argued as more daunting that all three combined.
The reigning Super Lig champions are unbeaten at home in seven matches this season, winning six, and 21 goals in the process and a potential centre-back partnership of Ben Davies and Radu Dragusin won’t fill the travelling Tottenham fans with much confidence of keeping only their fifth clean sheet of the season in all competitions.

Osimhen still the man
Victor Osimhen's loan move to Galatasaray from Napoli is beginning to bear fruit.
The Nigerian international has bagged four in his last four for the Turkish side and will no doubt lead the line again on Thursday night looking to add to his tally.
At just 25 years of age, Osimhen's career is suddenly at a loose end after falling out of favour in Serie A, and a good performance against Spurs could well court the interest of a Premier League club.
