Spain will look to underline their dominance in the footballing world when they face off against Olympic hosts France in the Parc des Princes on Friday evening.

The highly-anticipated gold medal match will see a European superpower rise again following the stranglehold exerted by Latin American teams in the past five editions of the tournament - Brazil and Argentina with two wins apiece and Mexico with their triumph in 2012.

Both Spain and France had to come from behind in their respective wins against Morocco and Egypt respectively, with the latter reaching the semi-finals of the Olympic competition for the first time in their histories.

A dramatic tournament so far, this could be a thrilling watch for the neutral, but who will come out on top?

As usual, I have scurried over to the markets and drawn on a couple of Spain France betting tips for you to mull over ahead of kick-off.

We’ve looked at some of the best football betting offers, odds and markets from our range of football betting sites to provide you with France v Spain betting tips.

France v Spain Match Preview

Santi Denia’s charges to upgrade on Tokyo silver

It has been an incredible summer so far for Spain. Victory over England in the Euros Final showcased their supremacy, and it could be rounded off in gold come the weekend.

Three years ago, Spain walked away with a silver medal after succumbing to defeat to Brazil in extra time.

Santi Denia’s men, who last won gold on home soil in Barcelona in 1992, have looked comfortable throughout this Olympics, well apart from a surprise defeat to Egypt in the group stages.

As far as France are concerned, they shouldn’t be underestimated. The Crystal Palace combination of Michael Olise and Jean-Philippe Mateta worked a treat as they recovered to fight back and clinch a 3-1 win over Morocco, although they needed extra time to seal the deal.

Thierry Henry, who lifted the European Championship and World Cup as a player with France, could add another memorable chapter to his illustrious career, this time as coach.

France’s only men’s Olympic football gold came in Los Angeles in 1984, and they were silver medallists when the Games were previously staged in Paris in 1900.

Rather than trying to muster favour for the hosts, I’ve gone with Spain & BTTS for my opening pick, and an intriguing price of 11/2 can be unlocked at Paddy Power.

Fermin Lopez to add to his tally

At the Olympics, Fermin Lopez has grown in stature, and the Barcelona midfielder has become his country’s talisman.

With four goals and one assist to date, Lopez is joint-second in the goalscoring charts alongside Mateta.

Lopez has looked razor sharp when the opportunities have arisen, and he can make things happen.

France will need to be switched on to keep him quiet, however, I think Lopez could add to his tally and open the scoring. To round off my Spain France betting tips, Lopez to break the deadlock at an eye-catching 10/1 with bet365 is worth exploring further.
