With Poland already out of the tournament, they could provide the perfect opposition for joint-favourites France on Tuesday as Group D comes to a close at Euro 2024.

Considering that France are considered the joint-favourites, they have not looked at their best. Are they saving themselves for the business end of proceedings?

We’ve looked at some of the best football betting offers, odds and markets from our range of football betting sites to provide you with France v Poland betting tips.

France v Poland Match Preview

The Faltering French

If there is one thing to further highlight the inefficiencies of English officials, it is the ability to compare them against their European counterparts at a major tournament and after Friday’s draw between the Netherlands and France, those inefficiencies have once again been highlighted.

A combination of Anthony Taylor on the field and Stuart Attwell acting as the VAR combined to scrub off what looked like a legitimate goal for the Dutch and deny Xavi Simons his moment of glory.

Despair for the Dutch, fortune for the French and with that being the only genuine flashpoint of the game, the previously billed heavyweight clash in Leipzig ended as nothing more than a sparring contest for 90 minutes.

A draw on the scorecards and a point for both Ronald Koeman and Didier Deschamps’ men. The latter’s panel of players sit second in the group and should they match Austria’s performance against the former’s, progress to the Round of 16 will be secured.

However, it is not just progress that Les Blues will be looking to gain after three group stage outings, it is topping Group D as well and because head-to-head records serve as the first tiebreaker, they may also need to outscore the Dutch on Tuesday in order to finish first.

Which places Kylian Mbappe back in the spotlight and with the Real Madrid forward having to sit on the bench against the Netherlands because of a broken nose, there is no doubt that the French attack looked blunt at the start of last weekend.

Which also poses manager Deschamps with a dilemma, do you risk your prize possession with qualification almost secured or do you play him to have a better chance of guaranteeing an invite to the knockout phase.

Thankfully for the 2018 World Cup winners they soon come up against a nation that has already packed its bags and is waiting to check out of Germany. The nation in question is Poland and without being too harsh, they have not had any answers at this tournament.

Defeat in their opening group stage game versus the Netherlands was then followed up by the same outcome against Austria on Friday and where the French have stuttered without the services of Mbappe, the same can be said for Poland and Robert Lewandowski’s lack of fitness.

But now it is time for the first of my two tips and because Poland have nothing to play for, this should be a routine win for Les Blues. The routine here is a second group stage win and a total of under 2.5 goals at odds of 13/5.

In addition to this, I am going to suggest that France keep their powder dry for the Round of 16. Therefore, I am going to back a bore draw at the interval and then a narrow 1-0 win at the rather tempting price of 10/1.
