Key Races at the Doncaster St Leger Festival
The meeting begins on Thursday with two Group 2 races as the main races on the card. The May Hill is a Group 2 for two year old fillies at 3pm, followed by the Park Hill, a Group 2 staying race for fillies at 3:35pm.
On Friday, the Group 2 Doncaster Cup is the main event at 3:35pm while before that, we have the Flying Childers, another Group 2 race for two year old sprinters, and that goes off at 3pm.
Saturday sees the St Leger take place, the highlight of the entire meeting, with the final classic of the season going off at 3:40pm. In support we have the Group 2 Champagne Stage at 1:50pm and the Group 2 Park Stakes at 3:00pm, both of them seven furlong races.
Finally, on Sunday, in terms of quality the feature of the day is the Group 3 Sceptre Stakes for fillies at 3:15pm. However, a race later is where all eyes will be, as at 3:45pm we have the Leger Legends race, a charity event where retired jockeys compete against each other for bragging rights and to raise money for vital causes.
