Cricket Betting Tips: T20 Blast Finals Day Betting Tips - Somerset v Surrey & Gloucestershire v Sussex

It’s Finals Day again, the best day on the county calendar.
I can’t deny that County Championship cricket is my favourite format. I’d choose to watch it nine times out of 10 over any other offering. But that 10th time is Finals Day.
It’s a fantastic day, there’s no question about that. And this weekend, there’s plenty to get excited about given the teams who remain in the mix for the title.
I believe the winner of the title will come from the first semi-final between Somerset and Surrey, and I think Surrey are the likely winners.
There are some huge availability issues regarding these two sides.
In-form Somerset opener Tom Banton suffered a twisted ankle whilst playing football before a day of Championship cricket earlier this week and may not play, while Surrey are missing a few but have gained a few when it comes to England availability.
Sussex are unlikely to have Jofra Archer, who played in their semi-final win over Lancashire, and I just don’t see Gloucestershire being the ones to triumph.
I would be siding with Surrey at 23/10 with Paddy Power to win the title.

T20 Blast Betting Preview - Somerset v Surrey
This has the look of being the best of the semi-finals. The current champions Somerset versus the 2003 champions Surrey - the inaugural winners.
Surrey topped this season’s South Group, while Somerset finished third.
With England T20Is against Australia taking place on Friday and Sunday, they may well be without Sam Curran, Will Jacks, Jamie Overton and Reece Topley.
But they should have Test stars Dan Lawrence, Ollie Pope and Jamie Smith available. Gus Atkinson is unlikely given England have rested him from their ODI squad against Australia.
That Somerset are sweating on Tom Banton’s fitness is somewhat of a nightmare for them. With 515 runs this term, he is one of only four batters across the entire Blast to have topped the 500-mark.
StarSports have Surrey at 20/21 to win, a price I’d be keen to take.
Betway’s Evens on Dan Lawrence to score over 25 runs is an enticing price.
Lawrence is due a score - Surrey and England fans know that all too well. But I can see him performing in this fixture. I just have a strong feeling for his success.
In all cricket, he has gone 17 innings without reaching 40. He’s much, much better than that. And I’m going to be even more adventurous and suggest betway’s 18/5 on him to score a fifty.
I will finish by giving you a pair of 4/1 shots on success for Somerset players.
First, I like Tom Kohler-Cadmore to be their top batter in this match - 4/1 is available with Betfair. He has 365 runs to his name in this season’s Blast and hit a superb 63 from number three in the quarter-final win over Northamptonshire.
He took that stunning catch to win the title for Somerset - against Essex - at Edgbaston last year. So he has good memories.
And it surprises me that you can get 4/1 with Betfair on seamer Ben Green to be Somerset’s top bowler.
Green has taken 83 T20 wickets for Somerset since debuting for them in 2016, and 51 of those have come in the last two seasons. He was the second leading wicket-taker in the competition with 30 last year and has taken a Somerset high 21 this term.
But Jake Ball, Kasey Aldridge and Craig Overton are all better priced. I’m not sure why.

T20 Blast Betting Preview - Gloucestershire v Sussex
I strongly fancy Sussex to win this one against a Gloucestershire side who qualified for the quarter-finals by finishing fourth in the South Group then beat Birmingham at Edgbaston in the last eight.
Sussex’s demolition of Lancashire in the quarters was mightily impressive, bowling them out for 114 in an eight-wicket win.
It’s therefore no surprise they are 4/6 to win this semi-final against a side they beat twice in the group stage.
Instead of taking that price, I have put together a bet365 bet builder double on Sussex to win and a fifty to be scored in the match. That’s available at 21/20.
Betway are offering 2/1 on there to be at least one stumping in the match. This being the second semi-final played on the same pitch, that should make spin more effective.
William Hill’s Match Treble of 85/40 on Sussex to win, to hit the most sixes and to have the highest score at the fall of the first wicket is also something I’d be taking.
William Hill’s 9/4 on Sussex opener Daniel Hughes to score a fifty in the match is worth serious consideration. The left-handed Australian overseas star is the leading run-scorer in this season’s Blast with 595, including five fifties in 15 innings.
He is a serial T20 win with Sydney Sixers back home and just the type of experienced player who will thrive on such days as this.
I would also be very interested in Paddy Power’s 4/1 on Sussex left-arm spinner James Coles to be their top wicket-taker in the match.
The England Lion has taken 19 wickets in the Blast so far, including 2-9 in the quarter-final win over Lancashire.
My theory being that he will come into play more on a used pitch given this fixture is the second semi-final. That would be even more so if Sussex bat first and get a score on the board.
