Chris Eubank Jr Expects Discomfort In Conor Benn Grudge Match
Fight week is underway as Chris Eubank Jr and Conor Benn build up to Saturday's main event

Over 30 years since their fathers fought and over 30 months since the sons were supposed to fight — it looks like we are all set for chapter three of the Eubank-Benn rivalry this Saturday night.
Eubank Jr heads into this weekend’s showdown as the favourite with the online betting sites, while Benn is seen as the underdog in what promises to be a hard-hitting encounter.
Lewis Watson, our boxing expert here at Freebets.com, takes a closer look at what to expect on Saturday evening in North London.
Eubank-Benn Rivalry Rolls On
The slate currently reads 1-1-0 in favour of the Eubank family after Senior went unbeaten in 1990 and 1993, but this weekend's clash inside the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is proving a head-scratcher in boxing circles.
The old adage that a good biggun' always beats a good littlen' has been one to rely on when flicking through the boxing archives, but does it apply to this fight?
On paper, team Benn are billing this contest as a welterweight against a middleweight, but since their original date of October 2022, a lot has changed...
Benn hasn't made the 147 welterweight limit since failing his drugs test, fighting at 154 and 151 pounds in the two fights in the interim, whereas Eubank Jr has boiled himself down to the middleweight limit another three times, and lost once in devastating fashion to Liam Smith.
It's something that is clearly playing on the mind of Team Eubank, and considering he has agreed to a 170 pound rehydration clause on Saturday night, the advantages in weight now look to be swinging towards Benn.
"This is uncharted territory," he told Sky Sports after Tuesday's arrivals. "It's one of those things that when a challenge is put in front of me, I don't shy away from it. It excites me.
"The real weight cut doesn't really come until the week of the fight for most fighters. It's tough. I'm not going to lie. It's not fun, it's not nice. It's part of the sport having to boil yourself down to a certain weight.
"Adding in the fact I can't even drink as much as I want after the weigh-in adds another element of discomfort, hardship to what I'm going through.
"But this is what we sign up for. This is what we do as professional athletes. As elite-level fighters we have to go through these trials, these tribulations. I've been doing it my entire career so I have no doubt that the weight will be made."
Eubank's commitment to the cause is to be admired, but some onlookers are suggesting he should ignore the 170-pound rehydration clause and just stomach whatever fine comes his way.
Whether this is six figures of seven figures, we are unlikely to find out.
But what we do know is that the margins of Saturday night's fight are tightening by the hour. Eubank is now just a 4/7 favourite with bet365 whereas Benn sits as a 11/8 dog.
Back in 2022, Eubank claimed he only needed to be at "60%" in order to beat Benn, but as we get closer to fight night it feels like "Next Gen" might need to find another few percent from somewhere.
