Cheltenham v Bradford Match Preview
With nine goals to his name already this season, from 15 appearances, Andy Cook is right at his clinical best for Bradford.
The mobile target man has bagged braces against both Carlisle and Tranmere, and it feels as if any time he bores down on goal, the net is about to bulge.
So, while a sixth hat-trick of Cook’s senior career at Whaddon Road might feel like a long shot, he does average 3.1 shots per game – and, let’s say he takes three shots, the chances of him scoring each of them is greater than the 1.6% the odds imply.
Plus, Cook might take more than three against a Cheltenham side who have the joint-second worst defensive record in League Two, having conceded 20 goals in 12, and have the third-highest xGA of 18.95.
The Robins have endured some defensive inconsistency, not helped by deploying nine different formations this season, with 24 different players having featured for them in the league this season already.
Michael Flynn’s side could be without defenders Levi Laing and Scot Bennett, too, and Cook is the worst League Two striker to face for a team with vulnerabilities at the back.
