Quentin Johnston Anytime Touchdown Scorer
The Chargers rely on their ground game, despite boasting one of the most talented quarterbacks in the league. They average 121.6 rushing yards per game (12th in the NFL), while Justin Herbert has recorded 2,186 passing yards, 13 touchdowns, and just one interception across ten games this season.
Running effectively against Baltimore is no easy feat. The Ravens allow only 77.5 rushing yards per game (2nd) and lead the league in yards per carry allowed (3.4). This means the Chargers will need to lean on Herbert’s passing, creating an excellent opportunity for Quentin Johnston to extend his touchdown streak to four consecutive games.
The 6-foot-4 wide receiver made four catches for 118 yards and a touchdown in LA’s 27-10 victory over the Cleveland Browns in Week 9. Two weeks ago, Johnston grabbed two passes for 24 yards and a touchdown in a 27-17 win against the Tennessee Titans.
Last week, he tallied two receptions for 48 yards and a score in the Chargers’ 34-27 triumph over the Cincinnati Bengals. Johnston’s size and skill make him a potent weapon in the red zone.
The Ravens rank last in the league for passing yards allowed per game (284.5) and have conceded 22 receiving touchdowns across 11 games—16 of which were caught by wide receivers.
Notably, Baltimore didn’t concede a single touchdown in last week’s 18-15 loss to the Steelers, who relied solely on six field goals to secure the win. Replicating that defensive effort against Justin Herbert, who is steadily building chemistry with Johnston, will be a significant challenge for the Ravens.
Zay Flowers Anytime Touchdown Scorer
The Chargers boast the top scoring defence in the NFL, allowing just 14.5 points per game and conceding only 15 offensive touchdowns this season. Of those, just three have come on the ground, while 11 have been caught by wide receivers.
With this in mind, Zay Flowers makes for an excellent addition to our Chargers v Ravens tips. Flowers leads the Ravens in targets (79), receptions (52), and receiving yards (727). He has scored four touchdowns so far, three of which have come in his last three games.
In Week 9, Flowers dominated the Denver Broncos with 127 yards and two touchdowns. Last week, despite the Ravens’ narrow loss to the Steelers, he managed two receptions for 39 yards and a touchdown.
The Ravens rely heavily on their ground game, averaging 177.3 rushing yards per game (2nd in the NFL) and a league-best 5.8 yards per carry. To counter this, the Chargers will likely focus on loading the box to contain Baltimore’s rushing attack, which should create opportunities for Flowers to excel in open space.
Additionally, wide receiver Rashod Bateman missed Friday’s practice due to a knee injury and is questionable for the matchup against the Chargers. If Bateman is sidelined, Flowers is expected to see even more targets.
