BTTS Acca Tips for Today

Nottingham Forest v Newcastle – BTTS Yes

Deemed by Sky TV to be the pick of Wednesday’s matches, this game will be shown live and while it not be an end-to-end thriller, I think we should see both teams score in this one. Newcastle are unsurprisingly my tip to advance, but Forest have made a steady start to the season and home advantage is very important to them, so I can see them troubling Newcastle.

West Ham v Bournemouth – BTTS Yes

It is not the most exciting clash in the EFL Cup second round, but Premier League club v Premier League club does at least mean there will be one fewer big team down the line, and in this instance I think it will be West Ham who advance with Bournemouth missing out.

The Hammers were impressive 2-0 winners at Crystal Palace on the opening day and given the signings they have made this summer, this should be a good opportunity for a few of them to bed in. Bournemouth have started okay without setting the world alight and it remains to be seen how they cope without the influence of Dominic Solanke.

Swansea v Wycombe – BTTS No

Swansea have shown signs of stepping up a gear this season after a full summer to learn Luke Williams’ style of play, even if they were pegged back by a late Cardiff equaliser on Sunday. I don’t think they will have any trouble getting past Wycome on Wednesday - they themselves have had a mixed start to their season.

Slavia Prague v Lille - BTTS Yes

Lille have progressed through Champions League qualifying well, and are in pole position to qualify from this tie after winning the first leg 2-0. I think they will qualify again, but might not have this second tie all their own way - even despite keeping three clean sheets in their last three! I’m expecting a good, competitive game in this one.
