Bromley v Tranmere Match Preview
Tranmere have had trouble going forward this season, with Nigel Adkins’ side scoring a mere five goals in their first 10 games.
Rovers are struggling without the inspiration of last season’s wide star, Rob Apter, and didn’t add the quality they needed at the top end of the pitch.
The pressing and counter-attacking strengths we associated with 2023-24’s side, after Adkins took charge, are no longer as obvious, so there’s more excitement about prospects off the field at Prenton Park right now – and a possible takeover in the next few months – than on them.
Bromley haven’t exactly been spellbinding going forward themselves: since Andy Woodman’s side began their EFL voyage with back-to-back victories, they’ve not won a single league game, losing four of the subsequent eight encounters.
The Ravens have had a tough run in that time as well, though, facing top half opposition in six of those games, as well as a much-fancied MK Dons.
As such, the South (of) London outfit will see Saturday as an opportunity to chalk another win on the board, and marksman Michael Cheek will be key to those ambitions – partly because he’s scored six goals, and partly because nobody else has scored more than once.
