Beverley Tips: 3 Horse Racing Selections for Saturday

Beverley hosts one of their biggest meetings of the season on Saturday, with the Hillary Needler and Two Year Old Trophy taking centre stage.

The ITV racing cameras will be in attendance, covering three races and we’ve got our Beverley tips for all three contests.

Of those, two are at double figure prices, so there’s plenty of value to be found on this card, which should offer an excellent day’s racing.

Beverley Tips from Alan Kelly

Tips for the meeting are brought to you from Alan Kelly who is a resident horse racing tipster for Freebets, and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience, check out his three Beverley tips below.

2.05pm Beverley - Powerful Lady

Mark Johnston’s outstanding Classic-winning filly Attraction won this Class 2 contest back in 2003 and while there is unlikely to be anything remotely close to that level of ability in this year’s renewal, the race usually throws up a decent filly or two.

A field of 15 unexposed contenders makes life difficult in an effort to determine the outcome, but I expect a decent run from the sole Irish runner, the Miss Natalia Lupini-trained Powerful Lady.

Fourth on her racecourse debut at Cork last month, beaten less than a length after looking the winner going inside the final furlong, the daughter of Hello Youmzain is sure to improve with that run under her belt.

Both the second and third horses home in that maiden have come out and won since and with Luke Morris booked for the ride, connection clearly fancy their chances of taking home the first prize of almost £27k.

2.40pm Beverley - Regal Gem

Considering the wealth of juvenile talent in the Karl Burke stable, it is interesting that the trainer’s sole representative in this £50k contest is the unraced Shareholder, with jockey James Doyle in the saddle.

The Not This Time colt must have been showing plenty at home. Of the three previous winners in the race, slight preference is for the Tony Coyle & Kaine Wood-trained Regal Gem.

The son of Zoustar travelled well throughout the race when winning a 16-runner Pontefract maiden last month, beating his main market rivals with something to spare. At the moment it is impossible to evaluate the value of that form but David Nolan’s mount could not have been more impressive.

3.15 Beverley - No Nay Nicki

Not the greatest of races to end Beverley’s ITV4 coverage for the afternoon, the each-way vote going to No Nay Nicki from a stable in excellent form, that of Richard Fahey.

The mare has done most of her racing at York, finishing runner-up on two occasions on the Knavesmire, off marks of 84 and 80. Oisin Orr’s mount missed the break when finishing a never-nearer 10th of 18 at York just over a week ago and now racing off her last winning mark, is capable of going close if getting a better start this time.

More Horse Racing Tips

Alongside Alan Kelly, we have another resident horse racing tipster, Charlie McCann, who offers daily selections here on Freebets, and has a proven record over a long period of time.

His selections for Saturday, and every day, can be found on his tipping page.
