Barnsley v Reading Match Preview
Barnsley find themselves in the unusual position of flying as high as sixth in League One, whilst also being just 18th in the home form table.
Darrell Clarke’s side have looked better balanced in recent weeks, with Blackburn recruit Georgie Gent bringing valuable width at left wing-back, while Stephen Humphrys has added some much-needed mobility up top since coming in for Sam Cosgrove, creating more space for the likes of Adam Phillips and Sam Cosgrove.
Bright though they’ve looked on the road, however, the Reds have not quite been able to translate those performance levels to Oakwell, which is why the value could be with visitors Reading.
Sure, the Royals have struggled on the road this season, but they did muster a 2-1 victory at Peterborough at the weekend thanks to a Harvey Knibbs brace.
Held back ‘only’ by ownership issues, the Berkshire outfit are superbly coached by Rubén Sellés and are jam-packed with prodigious talents.
