Argentina v Chile Betting Tips, Odds & Match Preview - World Cup Qualifier

We’re jet-setting off to Buenos Aires in the early hours of Friday morning as the CONMEBOL qualifiers continue for the 2026 World Cup.

Argentina have enjoyed a dominant spell since 2021 bagging back-to-back Copa America’s and a Messi-inspired World Cup in Qatar, and with five wins from their six qualifiers so far, La Albiceleste aren’t looking to slow down any time soon.

Chile haven’t reached a World Cup since 2014 and have their work cut out already having won just one of their six matches so far...

We’ve looked at some of the best football betting offers, odds and markets from our range of football betting sites to provide you with Argentina vs Chile betting tips.

Argentina v Chile Match Preview

Since a 2-0 loss to Uruguay in November of last year, Lionel Scaloni’s Argentina have won 11 games on the spin (if you are to include ET and penalty wins on the Copa America against Ecuador and Colombia).

Scooping their third major trophy in three years with a wealth of options throughout their squad, the mood of La Albiceleste is sky-high as they continue their bid to qualify for the 2026 World Cup.

Chile’s future doesn’t look so bright.

Household names like Claudio Bravo, Alexis Sanchez, Diego Valdes, Arturo Vidal and Gary Medel are missing through a mixture of retirement, injury or deselection and with just one win in their last 13 competative matches, this trip to Argentina’s capital looks a daunting one.

Not so spicy Chile

It’ll be an all-Argentinean affair in the dugouts on Friday, with former Boca Juniors and River Plate striker Ricardo Gareca taking charge of his seventh game of the Chilean national team.

The 66-year-old has overseen two wins, two draws and two losses in his short stint so far, including a 3-0 friendly win over Paraguay that demonstrated the potential for this team in the coming years.

But being plauged by injury and without that fresh crop of talent coming through, patience will be required if La Roja’s fortunes are to change dramatically.

They haven’t won any of their previous 13 meetings with Argentina dating back to 2008 and without a goal in their last 270 minutes of football, the visitors may struggle to lay a glove on the in-form Argentina.

Argentina to win to nil at Evens with bet365 looks like the obvious pick.

Martinez magic

We may be Messi-less and Di Maria-less in Buenos Aires, but Lautaro Martinez is still the man of the moment leading Argentina’s front line.

The 27-year-old won the Golden Boot at the Copa America with five strikes and with eight goals in his last 10 appearances for the national team, we fancy him to fill his boots once again inside the Estadio Monumental.

Lautaro Martinez to score 2 or more at 8/1 with bet365 holds well if Argentina’s star striker is to continue his form from the Copa America and punish a weak Chilean back-line.
