We’re sticking to the whopping 40 teams in 2024′s World Cup of Darts, with Chinese Taipei, Guyana and Gibraltar making unlikely trips to Frankfurt.
Wales are the reigning champions after a dominant 2023 display from Gerwyn Price and Jonny Clayton, with the duo brushing Scotland aside in last year’s final 10-2 with professional aplomb.
But most eyes will be on England (4/7 with bet365) and Netherlands (5/1 with bet365) – the two favourites in the betting – and both teams getting byes into Round 2.

England to win the 2024 World Cup of Darts
England haven’t won the World Cup of Darts since the glory days of 2016 with Phil Taylor and Adrian Lewis, but stand a real chance in Frankfurt considering the winning momentum of world number one Luke Humphries.
Alongside Michael Smith, “Cool Hand” Luke pushes England into favourites at 4/7 with bet365, even without the presence of fan-favourite Luke Littler.
Humphries is winning title after title at the moment and it’s taking some special performances (usually from Littler) to get the better of him on the oche.
Humphries is playing well enough to carry this team and a World Cup title would look good alongside the rest of his titles over the past year on tour.
Netherlands to win the 2024 World Cup of Darts
Back-to-back titles in 2017-18 are the last time the Dutch tasted World Cup success, and they are the joint best performers at the World Cup alongside England with four titles.
And after missing last year’s event due to injury, Michael van Gerwen is back in an attempt to land his fourth title.
MVG is in good company with Danny Noppert. The “Freeze” is performing consistently on the oche, especially on the European Tour, and has represented Netherlands at three of the last four World Cup of Darts.
If van Gerwen is fit and firing then the Dutch will again take some stopping.
Scotland to win the 2024 World Cup of Darts
Scotland’s duo of Gary Anderson and Peter Wright have a wealth of experience but limited form.
Both players have struggled across the last couple of season – with Wright’s dismal performance in the Premier League a good example of this – but they competed well last season reaching the final against Wales.
This pairing won the crown back in 2019 and Wright, alongside John Henderson repeated the feat in 2021, but we’re pretty sure the Scots have had their day in this competition.
They are seeded into the second round, but you could argue both players could do with playing themselves into form on the oche.
Germany to win the 2024 World Cup of Darts
On home soil, the Germans are a cracking outsider bet in Frankfurt.
Gabriel Clemens and Martin Schindler have both run deep into recent majors campaign and will relish the opportunity to play as the hometown heroes.
They have a reasonable group in with Finland and New Zealand to blow away any cobwebs and will be heavy favourites to win both group matches.
These two are ranked No. 23 and No. 24 in the world, so are knocking on the door of the top 16.
Australia to win the 2024 World Cup of Darts
2022 champions Australia are back with the same pairing that saw them scoop the 2022 World Cup of Darts, but 20/1 says they can’t repeat this feat.
Simon Whitlock and Damon Heta provide a healthy blend of experience and fearlessness to go deep again, and they should top Group D in style in company of Japan and Hong Kong.
Heta is up to No. 11 in the world and, on his day, is one of the most consistent players on the tour.
