Top Four Selections For Tuesday Games

Tuesday Night Takeaway

If you are giving the Champions League a miss on Tuesday, then we have four of our very best EFL bets to keep you entertained.

League One Incoming

The first of our four clashes takes us to the Bet365 Stadium as Stoke play host to Wigan. The home side have got little to play for between now and the season, the visitors are clinging on for their Championship lives.

However, Wigan have failed to find a response in the past week or so and have lost each of their last three league outings. Not only that, but the Championship’s basement side have only won one of their last six.

Not a run that is inspiring Wigan supporters and manager Shaun Maloney is struggling to find inspiration from his players just as much. Then again, their crisis has certainly inspired me and therefore, I am backing a Stoke win on Tuesday at odds of 4/7.

Joy Of Six

Next up we go to Portman Road as Ipswich play host to Port Vale. The Tractor Boys are in top gear after hitting Charlton for six at the weekend and with Sheffield Wednesday continuing to drop points, it means Kieran McKenna’s men have also moved into second.

Tuesday night sees them play host to Port Vale and it is has been all change for their League One counterparts in the past few hours. Change that comes in the shape of Darrell Clarke’s exit as manager of the club.

Vale have not won any of their last seven league outings and they are just six points clear of the drop zone. In most cases a new manager bounce may tip the odds, but the bookmakers are heavily confident of an Ipswich win at odds of 2/9, and I also share that confidence.

On The Fringes

Now we are off to the LNER Stadium and further League One action, as Lincoln plays host to Barnsley. The visitors are doing their absolute best to earn themselves an automatic promotion place, but will their best be good enough on the final day?

Five games remain for the Tykes, and they are four points behind Ipswich in second. All Michael Duff and his players can do is keep winning their matches and see what unfolds ahead of them and after putting Forest Green to the sword on Saturday, they will be keen for another away win.

One that will not be easy when looking at Lincoln’s last four league outings. The Imps are unbeaten and have won their last three, but this Barnsley side has been in the groove across the past couple of months and I am backing the away win at odds of 19/20.

Trap Door Approaching

While my final pick takes me to West Sussex as Crawley play host to Colchester and although both teams are hovering dangerously close to the League Two relegation zone, the former are much closer than the latter.

While were it not for a win over Tranmere on Saturday, Scott Lindsay and his Crawley players would be approaching this midweek clash in the bottom two. They have moved out of the drop zone at the expense of Hartlepool, they cannot afford to slide back in there.

For all intents and purposes, the clash with Colchester is nothing less than a six-pointer and although the visitors are unbeaten in each of their last six, I am expecting the hosts to pull a much-needed rabbit out of the hat and earn a hugely important home win at odds of 2/1.

While if you put all four combinations together, Bet365 are prepared to offer you 10.23/1 in return.
